In the event of a disaster when there is a request for assistance, if the City can provide assistance without unduly jeopardizing the protection of its own community, that this article hereby authorizes the Mayor of the City of Sedgwick or his or her designee, to provide such assistance as may be required under authority granted in state law, with all the privileges and immunities provided therein.

Nothing in this article is intended to conflict or circumvent any existing interlocal agreement, any automatic aid, intergovernmental or mutual aid agreement, or any authority to enter into those in the future.

It is the intent of this article to provide assistance in any form of service including, but not limited to, police, fire, EMS, public works, administrative and clerical during times of disaster, with all the privileges and immunities described therein.
