(a) Tree limbs and yard brush shall not exceed a size determined by the City of Sedgwick Public Work Superintendent and posted, as designated in subsection (h). Tree limbs and yard brush shall be the only items allowed to be disposed of in the designated disposal site.
(b) Only residents of the City of Sedgwick shall be allowed to use the designated disposal site.
(c) Only tree limbs and yard brush shall be allowed if they are a result from trimming or storm damage within the corporate limits of the City of Sedgwick.
(d) All loads of tree limbs and yard brush brought to the designated disposal site shall be subject to inspection and verification of residency before unloading.
(e) Unloading of tree limbs and yard brush shall only be allowed during normal working hours.
(f) The disposal site shall be open such hours as determined by the City of Sedgwick Public Work Superintendent and posted, as designated in 12-201(h) of this Section.
(g) When the designated disposal site is deemed unsafe for use, it shall be closed for usage to the public. Residents may contact the City Administrative Office for information concerning when it will be reopened.
(h) A sign shall be posted at the designated site to properly identify the regulation requirements for authorized disposal of tree limbs and yard brush.
EXAMPLE:
(1) Must be a resident of The City of Sedgwick
(2) No limbs larger than 12 inches in diameter
(3) All loads shall be subject to inspection by any city employee
(4) Designated area shall be closed when deemed unsafe to enter (example: Police Firing Range in use, or while actively burning)
(5) Hours Open: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily
(6) Violation of these regulations shall result in a fine no less than $250 and violators may be barred from use of the disposal site in the future.
(h) A proper chain gate shall be installed at entrance with lock and key.
(i) Only a city employee may instigate the burning of tree limbs and yard brush. The wastewater treatment plant operator shall have direct responsibility for the designated disposal site and shall burn the debris at such intervals so as to prevent large accumulations of limbs and brush and at times to keep the area in a clean orderly fashion.
(j) Any city employee and/or governing body member shall be authorized to inspect and verify the unloading of tree limbs and yard brush.
(k) Anyone dumping trash or items not permitted in the designated disposal site is in violation of this article and shall be subject to the fine listed in the city fine/fee schedule and shall be no less than $250.00. Violators may be barred from use of the disposal site in the future.
